Tree Owner's Manual for the Northeastern and Midwestern United States ~ This is a great reference for anyone who has trees.  Great diagrams and easy to understand instructions from pre-planting to maintenance and troubleshooting to removal.  Something everyone should have in their reference library.  Best of all - it is FREE!

Take a look at Indiana Native Plant and Wildflower Society's Indiana Native Plant List.  This list is easy to use with plants divided by flowers, grasses, shrubs, trees, vines, sun, shade, and so on.  You can also find some great photos of plants on the Connecticut Botanical Society website.

Rain Garden Manual (pdf) contains detailed instructions on how to build a rain garden.  Rain gardens are landscaped areas planted with wild flowers and other native vegetation that soak up rain water, mainly from the roof of a house or other building.  The rain garden fills with a few inches of water after a storm and the water slowly filters into the ground rather than running off to a storm drain.  Compared to a conventional patch of lawn, a rain garden allows about 30% more water to soak into the ground.
